What helps you act on the findings
Competent and qualified Assessors
Fire Skills Ltd uses a small, carefully chosen group of Fire Risk Assessors. They are all well qualified and have years of experience as Fire Service Inspecting Officers
Report Template meets PAS 79
PAS 79 is a British Standards Institution framework that provides a structured methodology for conducting and recording fire risk assessments
3rd Party Accredited by BAFE
Selecting a competent, accredited Fire Risk Assessment provider is a critical requirement. The BAFE SP205 Scheme is a robust scheme that demonstrates this.
See the real risks in your workplace
If you are responsible for a workplace, you need to know where fire hazards sit, who could be affected and which precautions need attention first. We start by gathering key information about the premises, then inspect the site and review ignition sources, fuel loads, escape routes, alarms, emergency lighting, firefighting equipment, procedures and staff information. With Fire Skills Ltd, the aim is not to produce a document for a shelf. We give you a practical record of what we found and a clearer basis for managing day-to-day fire safety.

Turn site findings into sensible actions
A proportionate assessment helps you judge what matters most without treating every issue as equal. We record findings, explain why they matter and rank actions so you can plan improvements in a sensible order. Through Fire Skills Ltd, you get direct contact with the people carrying out the work, so questions can be dealt with clearly from the start.
Frequently asked questions
What do you look at during the assessment?
We look at the way your premises are used as well as the physical precautions in place. That includes likely ignition and fuel sources, means of escape, warning systems, lighting, equipment, emergency procedures and the information given to staff.
If I have an existing fire risk assessment, is it suitable?
The quality of the fire risk assessment varies massively. We have seen everything from 2 or 3 pages with nothing more than tick boxes through to pages of excessive, unnecessary jargon that is difficult to understand and work with. A Fire Skills report is based around PAS 79 using Nationally recognised Software for consistency and quality. Our reports are user-friendly and written in a language that is easily understood.
What will we receive afterwards?
You receive a written record of the main findings and a prioritised action list. We explain the issues in plain language, so your responsible person can see what needs attention first and plan the next steps without guessing which items carry the greatest risk. We also remain available for ongoing advice relating to our Fire Risk Assessment if it is required.
